The distance from M57 to galaxy IC 1296 is only about four times the diameter of the M57 nebula, so all low and medium power views, and most high power views, of M57 will include IC 1296 in the field of view. Sketch done August 3, 2011 using the Okanagan Observatory 25" reflector at 530x.
