This cropped photo shows Mercury as a somewhat indistinct round disc near the arcing edge of the background sun. The image was projected on a white card using a 60mm Tasco refracting telescope that I've had since I was barely in my teens. The sharply-defined dark flecks are bits of dust on the card.
