M42 on a time budget

M42 on a time budget

Living in the Okanagan during the winter months does not give us a lot of observing opportunities, clouds, rain and snow seem to eat up much of our winter nights. I myself am left with a feeling of emptiness and by the time our sky’s clear I’ve almost forgot how to use the equipment I have. But there is a silver lining, “TIME” I decided to try an experiment in time, or shall I say photon’s from the past. The attached image of M42, although not the greatest it is a good example of time or the lack of it. This image of M42 is 6 minutes total; this along with some creative processing actually yielded decent result’s. The lesson that I’ve learned here is that just sometime a small and insignificant break in the never ending clouds may just be what the soul needed.
