To improve image tracking, in 2010 a pier was installed through the 'porch' floor. This carries an Orion Atlas mount which is driven by the venerable SBIG STV guider. Two telescopes are carried on the mount, an Orion 8" Ritchie-Chretien Astrograph and the 4" Borg apo. This arrangement has worked out well. To image smaller objects such as M13 the 8" at f8 is used while the 4" guides. For wider field and extended objects, the Borg is used in f4.3 and f6 modes while the 8" guides. In either case automatic guiding is bang on, ensuring reliable tracking.
