Beyond The Sage
On my third night at Mount Kobau Star Party, I had ambitions to go on a night hike for some Milky Way compositions, bringing only a tripod and my camera bag to reduce weight. My hike didn't last too long. About 30 seconds in, I tripped on a rock and fell, then came across a pile of bear scat, followed by a large black animal crashing out of the bush. It was just a cow. I decided I had gone far enough and setup my tripod in front of this sage brush to see if I could make something of it. I started with my tripod low to capture the bush then raised the tripod to shoot the sky and blended the two shots together.
