Mount Kobau Milky Way
My first night at the Mount Kobau Star Party was one to remember, I was treated to a stunning sunset with crepuscular rays, got my two imaging rigs up and running, then trekked off to a spot I had scouted earlier in the day to capture this image. I blended two long exposures together, one tracked for the sky and one stationary for the foreground. All of the exposures had a very green hue to them making me think I had messed up a camera setting but it wasn't there on consecutive nights with the same settings. It was sky glow, a natural phenomenon created by molecules in our atmosphere releasing energy built up from solar radiation throughout the day, appearing as greens and reds.
