I was out working in Prince George and headed out to take some shots of the milky way. I chose a place about 20 minutes outside of the city called West Lake, I was told I would see some bears out there so I bought some bear gear and brought a radio with me. As soon as I pulled up, there was a bear standing on the road close to the gates. I sat in my truck for a bit half waiting for it to get darker and half building up the nerve to head out into the dark with who knows how many bears when a notification came up on my phone alerting me about a KP6 geomagnetic storm which grew to KP7 quite quickly. It was 10:40 and still not very dark yet but I looked out of the window and the show was starting, bears or no bears I wasn't passing up this opportunity. Took a bunch of shots with my Nikon D5300 and blended a single 4 second shot for the sky and a 15 second shot for the foreground both at ISO 1600 and processed them in Photoshop.
