Across the Similkameen Valley from Mt. Kobau, the Snowy Mountain wildfire smoldered throughout 2018`s star party. On the morning of Aug. 5, the smoke pall was confined to a level around the mountain peaks while cumulus puffs (perhaps pyrocumulus energized by the fire) grew above it.
