The full image shows some lens distortion but, seen in the inset, the image of Mars shows various surface markings, including (at top) a hint of the N polar cap. The dark feature in Mars’ upper left quadrant is Mare Acidalium. In the S hemisphere, Mare Erythraeum dominates.
