SEVEN SISTERS OUTSHONE BY GODDESS, APRIL 3, 2020
On this mainly cloudy evening of closest approach I had two good views of Venus and the Pleiades: first during bright twilight, then again three hours later just before the planet/cluster set. Even in that short time you can detect the motion of Venus relative to M45’s individual stars.
Twilight: 1/1.6 sec at f2.8, ISO 200. Equivalent to 600 mm fl in 35 mm film. Panasonic Lumix FZ-200.
Setting: 2 sec at f2.8, ISO 800. Equivalent to 600 mm fl in 35 mm film. Panasonic Lumix FZ200. Two part stack of 3 frames, separately for the landscape and the stars, then combined as one image.
