This picture of NGC 2174, known as the 'Monkeyhead Nebula' in northern Orion was taken on the cool -10C. night of March 4, 2019 from Summerland using an 8" Quattro imaging Newtonian. Ten 10 min. subs were taken with a Canon XSi DSLR at ISO 1600 and processed with dark frames in ImagesPlus. The Monkeyhead is an emission nebula which is associated with the open cluster NGC 2175. The image was rotated 180° to provide the monkeyhead profile.
