Rosette Nebula

The rosette nebula (Caldwell 49) is located in the Monoceros region of the Milky Way. Within this region is NGC2244 (Caldwell 50) an open cluster. The nebula is 5200 light years away, it has a 65 light year radius with apparent magnitude of 9.0. This HOO image was captured over several nights over the months of February, March and April. It contains over 20hours of exposure time, in 5min exposures.
