The striking scene of a crescent Moon and the brightest planet in close proximity occurred on July 15, 2018. This view was taken by a modified Canon XSi DSLR using an 80mm refractor in Summerland.
Mare Crisium is on the upper part of the terminator with the crater Cleomedes just above it.
