Early on the morning of October 2, 2015 the Moon covered the red giant star Aldebaran at 6.08am before sunrise at 6.59am. This photograph was taken seconds after its reappearance at 7.21am. The spark of Aldebaran can be seen just off the middle point of the dark limb. The following picture shows the Moon before the emergence.
