FRIEND OF THE RASC-OC: For any person, group, or organization that has made an important contribution(s) to the goals, well being, or functioning of the RASC Okanagan Centre.

The Okanagan Centre of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada here cites the Penticton Campus of the Okanagan College as a true Friend of the RASC-OC! Over many years the Penticton Campus has provided us with classroom space to come together as a scientific and social organization, and also provided us with a lecture hall and theatre for astronomical presentations of general interest to the community. By providing space for our astronomy meetings, presentations, and endeavors, as well as providing consistent scientific and social programming for the community at large, we cite and thank the Penticton Campus of Okanagan College for its many educational and scientific contributions to the region. The Penticton Campus has faithfully fulfilled its mission to “transform lives and communities” and to “strengthen and sustain the social, economic, environmental and cultural resiliency of the region for current and future generations through the creation and sharing of knowledge.” The RASC has a rich history of community service and educational outreach going back over 150 years. We hope to continue our mutually beneficial relationship with Okanagan College deep into the future.
