May 2012 – Annular Eclipse Trek
Pinhole Crescents before Annularity produced on the school house wall by a hugh tree situated near the area we had selected as our observing location. An earlier picture taken during set up illustrates the distance we were from the school (approx 200 ft), and the shadow the tree cast slightly earlier in the day. Crescent images were projected back onto the wall as the Sun became lower in the sky – thus allowing the projection to extend rearward rather than more downward to the ground relatively close to the base of the tree had the Sun been higher in the sky.
