Hole Punch Cloud
Unusual phenomenon over the Okanagan: on the morning of February 22, 2105, a Hole Punch Cloud or "Fallstreak Hole" formed not far south of Kelowna. Such distinct holes are created when supercooled waterdroplets in the cloud deck begin to freeze and drop in an outward-radiating pattern. In this view, the middle part of the hole is slightly obscured by the precipitating ice crystals.
