Noctilucent Clouds

Noctilucent Clouds

This picture of noctilucent clouds was captured from the balcony of my Penticton residence at 10.30pm on June 18.
When I do unaided eye observing this time of year, I look for Capella at its most northerly culmination (appearing 5 degrees above the horizon and incidentally, can be viewed as a white pixel in both photos). In addition, I like to look at the astronomical twilight around midnight. This is when I noticed the sky had an eerie blue glow that turned out was in fact noctilucent clouds.
