This picture of the Markarian Chain of galaxies which is part of the Virgo galaxy cluster was taken on the night of April 30, 2014. Ten 10 minute subs were taken at ISO 1600 with a modified Canon XSi camera through a 101mm Borg Apo operating at f6.3 and were processed in ImagesPlus.
Right to left the main galaxies in the chain are M84, M86, the paired 'eyes' NGC 4435 and 4438, paired NGC 4458 and 4461, followed by NGC 4473 and 4477. The edge on galaxies above and below M86 are NGC 4402 and 4388 respectively.
