NGC 6946

NGC 6946, an intermediate spiral galaxy, is also known as the Fireworks Galaxy. It is located 65 million light years away in the Cepheus and Cygnus area of the sky. The sketch was done on Mount Kobau on August 15, 2012 using a 15" Dobsonian reflector and a 13mm Ethos eyepiece yielding 146x.
